Connect VistaInspect to Claude
Add VistaInspect as a connector, then run your inspection by talking to Claude. Takes about a minute, and you only do it once per account.
Set it up
Create your VistaInspect account
You need an account first — the connector attaches to your firm so your jobs land in the right place.
Generate a connection token
In VistaInspect, open Settings → Connect your AI and generate a token. It is shown once, so copy it before you leave the page.
Add the connector in Claude
Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors, then add VistaInspect. Paste your token when it asks for a credential.
Switch it on for the chat
Turn VistaInspect on in the conversation you are about to use, then ask Claude to find your inspection.

Before your first job
Switch it on in every new chat
The connector does not carry over between conversations. If nothing happens when you ask for a job, check that VistaInspect is switched on for that chat and ask again.
Type or dictate — voice mode cannot reach us
Voice modes cannot run tools, so anything you say out loud to a voice assistant never reaches your inspection. Tap the microphone on the message box, dictate into the text, and send it.
Photos go through the VistaInspect app
Take photos in the VistaInspect app on your phone and they upload onto the job with the time and area attached. A picture dropped into a chat is never stored on the report — chat is where you narrate what you saw.
If your workplace blocks connectors
On an enterprise or managed Claude workspace, an administrator decides which connectors are allowed, and VistaInspect may simply not appear. That is a policy setting, not a fault on your account.
- Ask your workspace administrator to permit the VistaInspect connector.
- If they will not, use a personal Claude account for inspection work.
- Either way, the VistaInspect phone app and the web app keep working — you can run the job without a chat connector and write the report on the web.
Then what?
Ask for your job by address, say you are on site, and narrate as you go. When you are back at the desk, review the drafted sections here on the web, accept the ones you agree with, and publish.
